On Monday, April 8, 2019, Governor Doug Ducey announced the appointment of Jorge “Jordy” Fuentes as the Director of the Residential Utility Consumer Office.
Prior to his appointment as Director, Mr. Fuentes was serving as Deputy Director for the Office, where he has worked since 2015. Mr. Fuentes holds a law degree from Arizona State University, where he also received the Law, Science, and Technology Certificate, specializing in Environmental and Sustainability Law. Mr. Fuentes serves on the State’s Water Emergency Team, actively participates on the Arizona Mexico Commission – Energy Committee, and regularly represents residential ratepayers before the Arizona Corporation Commission.
Prior to working for the Residential Utility Consumer Office, Mr. Fuentes worked as an Information Technology Director, for public schools in Arizona. In 2009, Mr. Fuentes was elected to the Town Council for the Town of Taylor and for a time served as Vice-Mayor. Mr. Fuentes is a married father of four children.
Mr. Fuentes replaces former Director David Tenney.
