ARIZONA WATER COMPANY RATE INCREASES FOR CUSTOMERS IN BISBEE, MIAMI, SIERRA VISTA, AND APACHE JUNCTION
Because of a recent ruling of the Arizona Corporation Commission on a 3 to 2 vote, your water rates could be going up as soon as July to allow the Arizona Water Company to recover – twice -- some of their infrastructure costs.
RUCO is fighting the Commission’s position in the Arizona Court of Appeals. RUCO is also hosting public meetings around the state in areas affected by the rate increase, encouraging ratepayers to write, call and e-mail their disapproval to the Arizona Corporation Commission. Only two of the Commissioners – Brenda Burns and Bob Burns -- stood up for the ratepayers, and voted against the dual rate hike.
