Bill Assistance Resources

From time to time ratepayers find themselves in need of assistance with their monthly utility bills. If you find yourself in this situation, here are the suggested steps to follow. 

 

Step 1. Contact your utility. Your utility may have the ability to switch you to a more affordable rate plan, provide you an extension to your bill date, provide you access to assistance programs if you qualify, or connect  you with a customer service counselor.

  • Call your utility by looking for their phone number on your bill or online, or use the links below:
  • The utility's website will also contain information about their bill assistance and discount programs.

 

Step 2. Contact a local organization. Contact a local organization that can walk you through assistance you may be eligible to receive. Don’t give up if you don’t get through the first time, try again.

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally funded program  that helps low income households pay their heating/cooling bills, minimize crises, and make  energy costs more affordable.
